Alien botany, frozen signals, books as contagion

Tokyo Literary Flea Market / 文学フリマ東京43
8 November 2026

Two artist books by Zoetica Ebb: Chimeric Herbarium, available now, and Cryptobiosphere, a forthcoming bilingual photo-text book with Kenji Siratori.

CHIMERIC HERBARIUM

Art book or a found object from the future?

Stark black-and-red diagrams are presented alongside eerie descriptions of otherworldly flora and the ways it interacts with human hosts. This hand-numbered, limited-edition compendium contains the Alien Botany art archive and a record of the new forms these specimens have taken in the years since this infectious collection was discovered on Earth.

Printed across two distinct paper stocks, with crimson plant-based vellum accents.

CRYPTOBIOSPHERE

Cryptobiosphere is shaped by expeditions through Hokkaido’s northern landscapes.

Here, cryostasis is an active condition. It stores pressure, preserves disturbance, and waits for the next transformation. Photographs, nonhuman field notes, and xenopoetic signal-texts form a slow ecosystem where landscape behaves as host, archive, and organism.

Tokyo presentation planned for 文学フリマ東京43, 8 November 2026.
